There ain't no warranty here guy. Out of warranty, used junk extraordinaire. Not like GM would warranty the heads/cam package anyway.

Need shop recommendations for alignment before tour. Gunna try to minimize the darting as much as I can as well as wanting to lower the stock bolts as far as they'll go.

You'll get 3/4 of an inch with the stock lowering bolts. I love it on my GS. The dealer did it for me for like $100.

If you want more, you can cut the rubber bushings at the base of the bolts with a metal cable saw. Take like 5 minutes.

3/4 of an inch will pretty much stuff the wheels at the top of the wheel wells. There's not much room left.

Thats what I thought too. I ended up cutting two donuts off the stock bolts on both my 07 and my 11 GS. Looked perfect and handled great. But its your call on what you can deal with. Cutting the two donuts put the rubber wind deflector under the nose, about a half inch from the ground. When I would brake hard, I could hear it skimming on the pavement nascar style. It was funny.

Doesn't "lowering" a vette like that just decrease the spring rates of the leaf springs?

You're not adjusting the preload on the spring like you do with a coilover so I wouldn't think anything would change with spring rate.

It's literally just a screw at the end of a piece of metal.

The vettes don’t have leaf springs. They have a single transverse leaf spring. It’s like a sway bar. The suspension is as modern as it gets.

The darting issue was solved for me with DRM shocks bigger tires and a good alignment, I think the shocks were the biggest part of the problem.

Is darting happening on compression/bounce or the car is generally following the slope of the pavement and not tracking straight?

It's happening just cruising down the road. I think it's just a product of huge steam rollers and aggressive tread following the crack/patches in the road

How much toe in do you have?

Not running steamrollers as it is a fwd econobox. Does have sticky 200tw tires and 1/16 inch toe out on each side for better turn in and it sounds like similar symptoms. So maybe just a toe and go alignment and you are set ?

No idea, hence why I asked for a good alignment shop to get it all taken care of.

Not sure where you are. I had my Z done at Thalmans 3-4 years ago as they have an inground lift with my rather low car.

You paid the dealer $100 to lower the car on stock bolts? You do know it is literally 5 minutes of work once the car is on jack stands right?

Get out a tape measure, you can get a rough estimate of how much toe you have by measuring front and back of the tire.

Let me drill a hole through the car from left to right so I can measure the tires.

Modern as it gets? The suspension is simple and years of tweaking make it work well. But it is FAR from modern. It isn't 1804. lol

:shakes head: You can measure near the bottom of the front and back. It works the same as a rough estimate....

Fronts were lowered all the way, stock bushings. Rear has cut bushings (2/3 of the rings cut) and I had to raise it a bit from the bottom.

I had Wil align it when he still worked at just tires and it handled perfect.

If there was any car you should have kept.

It was that one.
