Well I haven't posted on here in a while. Figured I'd post up the beginning of the new build. As many know, I've been a nitrous car for some time. I finally decided I'm sick of changing plugs and filling bottles and figured it was time to leap into the boost world.

To start off. The old setup consisted of an Aluminum Ls2. 402ci. Ported/milled 241 heads. 12.2/1 compression. Backed behind a DRC Th400 and FTI converter. Nitrous consisted of a nitrous outlet single stinger plate kit. Not gonna go into detail much but On a 225 shot the car MPHed 154 on the drag radials. Then I went up to a 325 shot and only ran 1/8th mile mainly to dial the car in for KOTS no prep. Best 60ft to date on a no prep surface, has been a 1.22.

The goal all along has been to keep it a 100% street car. It has its casual highway cruises and joy riding around town without a single issue.

Ok onto the fun stuff. The new setup will consist of:

  • SBE 6.0 with my current 241 heads. Aiming for 10.2/1 compression. LS6 intake
  • Turbo is a Cast wheel borg warner s480 with race Cover. (For now).
  • fuel will be drum E-85, setup consists of a Squash Performance twin 450 intank with -6 feed and return. Injectors are Bosch 160s.
  • boost leash boost controller with bump box and MSD 2step
  • sticking with the th400 just having it refreshed, and will be leaving the converter alone for now to see how she does with boost. If anything it'll be sent to FTI to have changes made
  • rear end is a strange 12bolt. Gonna be leaving the 3.73 gear in to keep the car healthy to the 1/8th for KOTS 275 class.

Will continue to post updates as I go. I bought a long block 5.3 today to use for mock up. Threw a rattle can at it so see how I feel about a completely blacked out long block and I'm in love. Once the new engine is finished, it'll be painted black as well along with the heads and everything else that isn't black. The manifolds, cold side and compressor housing will also be Coated black.

Here's some pics of what I finished today! Enjoy!!

I saw someone post your 402 build sheet and get pissed because you used 241 heads instead of the legendary ls6 heads. No matter how potent and well it worked, he was soo bothered by it  but he's leaving so much off the table

Looking forward to this build as well. Keep kick'in ass

Holy crap, Mikey! What have you gotten yourself into now!??!

Looks sick man! When do you expect to have it back on the street? You have to do much to the fuel system to keep up with the new PAH levels?

Good to see another car moving into big boy land! Seeing posts like this makes me really miss my TA! :wtc:

Haha thanks man. My fuel system is capable of 1200-1500 no problem. Shouldn't take long to have it up and going. I got the 5.3 to mock everything up while my trusty engine builder gets my new motor ready. Once it's done everything should go in piece of cake.
