My wife got my sway bars for my birthday. Got the front one on today. I need to box my rear lower control arms before installing the rear. Front is 1-5/16 and rear is 1"

Also got my energy suspension body mounts today. I've read mixed reviews about poly ones but I hope to never do this again so I'm cool with the added NVH.

I attempted to loosen the bolts and 2 broke off and the rest spun (other than the 4 at the very ends that aren't blind captured nuts). So looks like I need to cut 5 more holes in my perfectly good floors to access those. Going to tin can them open (cut 3 sides and score the 4th then peel back). Going to not be fun that's for sure.

Worked on body mount shit today. Got everything unbolted (well if breaking bolts off counts). Also pulled my inner fenders and was surprised at how clean everything is under there (besides the core support area under the battery). Also gives me a ton of room to mount my master cylinder for the clutch so that's a plus.

damnit. I do not miss working on rusted vehicles...I can't even count the times I have had to figure out a solution to breaking bolts off. Progress is looking good though

If those bolts are like the ones on the Lemans they're the hardest stuff known to man. Carbide time.

Rust is the devil. This car is rusty in spots and spotless in others. Thankfully a lot of the underside is clean. It's the outer 1/4 panels that are real bad and a few small spots on the fenders.

Really those are the only bolts I've had troubles with so far. I haven't gotten to the rear suspension yet though

I've gone the cut holes in the floor and trunk method. I don't want to lay on my back and drill that shit out. Plus all the captured nuts spun so need access to them anyways.

Fun fact, buick put 4 mounts at the firewall unlike the coupe Chevelle (not sure on olds and Pontiac A-bodies). I've found a few things they've upgraded over other cars like the rear control arm braces.

Is rust meat? I've eaten some of that lately

It'll never be finished finished but eventually once the domino effect stops or slows down I'll get this fucker on the road and driving.

Also have a lead on a 12 bolt out of a 70 Grand Prix SJ. It's a 3.08 posi. Not a great gear but at least it'll move the car for now. Just waiting for this guy to get back from vacation.
