I'm hoping that Ford will release a Track Pack similar to the last generation that will offer a factory warrantied intake and tune.
I can show you how to or do the muffler mod for you once I get more shield gas for my welder, basically turns the stock mufflers into gt500 mufflers on the cheap and sounds delightful

I am not sure I understand this. So you had a JLT cold air and a tune and it lost power? Then added cat deletes and it finally made more power?

OP, to be honest the cold air kits are kind of a waste with out bigger mods. The HP gained for the money isn't very good.

what im saying is, I had cat deletes and a lund tune.. it ran fantastic.. put on the JLT intake and had him retune it... it ran slower

Put back on the stock CAI and the tune for it.. faster

The OEM intakes on these things are really quite good from the factory, pretty well documented fact.

Aftermarket ones add some throat to the induction noise, but aren't known for making crazy power.

Side-note, Still love my FRPP Power Pack @blakbearddelite

Well I can believe it. Ford did a good job with the factory air box set up. For the 2011-14 cars I just would tell people to put the Airaid tube on the stock air box. Until you do headers and/or CJ intake I don't think it is worth it.

On Han's dyno my car made minimal gains with the Airaid and no insert. The gains were probably close in percentage in variances you could see dyno run to dyno run.

Did you have a dealer install your FRPP? I might go FRPP for the ST but don't know who would install it... Kind of like the idea of keeping a warranty.

I had mine installed by Sutton Ford. They even included a before and after dyno runs.

Gotcha. I was curious because the G8 was the opposite. It gained 20whp just by switching out the stock intake box. It is crazy how much power it made.

It's kind of similar on the ST. The research and graphs show that the stock intake is pretty damn good from the factory unless you start doing bigger mods to the car.

Ya, Ford didn't leave much on the table for the aftermarket to run with. Even headers and full exhaust has small gains for a large price tag.

Heck, the new intake manifold flows more than the new GT's intake. That is crazy. haha

Rod Baker in Plainfield, was an hour of book time IIRC, I paid $120 because they also installed my Steeda shift bushing as well.

I have a CEL right now throwing a P420 code (Catalytic efficiency below threshold), and I'm EXTREMELY grateful that I have a warranty for this kind of thing as its possible the Tune may have killed the cats .

It passed all tests, they asked me to Flogg the car for a week, and the light came back so they will have to replace the Cats (Dunno if its going to be FRPP's dime, or Fords).

they left a LOT on the table for mid-range gains with torque management stuff, and a few other more Eco minded items I'm sure. I stand by that the FRPP Power Pack is how the car should have come from the factory IMO, but obviously that leaves even less on the table for the aftermarket.

I would take you up on that. I want to spend very minimal money this year on the car. I figured a little exhaust change would do until next year.

correct, they dialed it back with the tune. So they could update it and make more power/torque down the road if needed. But the hard parts are dialed in to the point the gains are small. Which gives you a great bang for the buck.

I agree that the FRPP is the tune those cars should have left the plant with. But I am sure Ford was happy with the tune. I am sure it adds a safety margin they like to have. Especially with people throwing lower octane fuel in the tank and/or winter blends.

Agreed, Crap gas and a 91 Oct tune do not go together well

You sure the 15+ GT Mufflers are the exact same as the 11-14's design wise internally?

I am not aware of that color. Ford doesn't list it on their website either. I think it may be Guard (green). It may look slightly diferent in different light. But it isn't a color changing paint like Mystic or Mystichrome.
