So I moved down to Bowling Green, left my Notch with Roscoe at Pecoz Motorsports to have the fab work finished over winter. I needed something else to mess with because I have ADD. Two days before I left, I drove to Rockford and picked up this little philly.

1978, 106k miles, fuel injected 5 spd model. Original California car (no rust) and the previous owner just used it as a get around car when he would be out in California (truck driver). He had the interior restored, as well as the car re shot in a pearl white. Wanted one since I was 15-16, finally got it.

So naturally, I started tearing everything apart on it. First that God awful front bumper. Replacing it with a xenon air dam and TheZStore thin bumper. (still waiting on those to arrive)

That fresh interior though....

And off with the suspension

Now TRUTH BE TOLD: I was pulling the exhaust off the header, and broke two bolts into the manifold. Rust and age, nothing you can do. As I was laying on the ground contemplating pulling the header off I had a change of heart. Why pull the header off when I can just pull the whole GDamn motor out?

Goodnight sweet prince.

Go play in the stars with all the other iron block straight 6's from the 70s.

SO MUCH ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES

So the following day my search for a replacement motor began, 12 minutes later, this arrived at my door.

Now to scoop a T56, and start ordering the swap parts.

What suspension is going on this?

Don't go broke looking at it all.

The ground control guys work really close with us over at THMotorsports, they are setting up a custom spring rate coilover kit, matched with some tokicos (when theyre back in stock) for now a set of KYBs just to get it back on the ground and height adjusted.

I've been looking for a clean 77-78 for months now (technically years, since I was 15-16, also).

And you're stuffing a real engine in there.

You mother fucker.

They are without a doubt my favorite classic. Fell in love with em at a young age but could never source the right deal. This car had perfect history, great previous owners, and it was in California until 2012. Couldnt say no. Plus it drove from Chicago to Kentucky without a single issue. You can take it for a spin when its done...in the passanger seat.

What an awesome project!

Thanks man!
