So I came to discover that the 2010 Jetta that I picked up a month ago was a bitch of a prom queen. The diesel particulate filter needed replacing, ($2,000) the timing belt needed replacing ($950) and it needs the transmission service done. ($350) All that and I would have needed to buy snow tires too! So... I found this:

Its a 2013 Fusion with everything except leather and only 20K miles. I pick it up next week after they're done cleaning and servicing it.

If that's at a dealer don't let them do a buff job on it .

If that's at Harvard ford double triple quadruple check all the paperwork . And make sure they didn't try to sell you an extended warranty on top of a warranty you might already have . That shop pic looks like it's from there.

Also if you need new plates or have anything else added , and you finance , make sure they don't roll the extra costs into the financing .

Its at Manley Ford in Belvidere; a very good friend of mine is one of the managers so it's getting the "family" treatment in service, detail and finance.

That's good advice for buying from any dealer. Months after I bought my 2012 Mustang, I looked at the paper work again because I needed my VIN number for something. I noticed that I got charged for some stupid VIN ID stickers that the dealer put in my door jambs. I can't remember the exact cost, but it was something ridiculous like $300. Not once was it mentioned to me during the transaction.
