My d1sc Cobra

Hey guys, been a while since I have been on here. Figure I can update you guys on what I have currently.

I bought a 97 Cobra with a Vortech v-1 on it, previous owner said that the engine was send to a performance shop in Canada to have the engine built and he said it had an upgraded transmission (not going to count on the engine or tranny). The car was running about 5psi on the v-1. It has 4.10 gears, exhaust, other bolt ons and some suspension mods. Got it with Eibach springs on it, so it wasn't very low so decided to get some h&r springs and lowered it another inch or so.

After that, ditched the old shitty tires on it and bought some 315/35/17 Nitto 555r's and got new headlights.

After driving it a while, I decided that the v-1 just wasn't doing it for me so I found a d1sc kit with a 3 core FMIC for sale on SVTP. Arrived in about a week but it was missing quite a few components so I had to order the missing pieces. Also ordered 60# injectors and an Aeromotive 340lph fuel pump.

started taking the Vortech off and got the upper intake manifold off. Taking off the old blue top 24#'ers.

got the vortech and the intake manifold off and found some dirty ass IMRC's and the whole intake could use a cleaning. So took it all apart and cleaned it up a bit

Got a new IAC valve on the upper mani.


got the 60#'s on and procharger mounted. New alternator and a 3.4" pulley. Also put on a BBK afpr.
got the upper intake manifold back on

decided to ditch the tail pipes to clean up the back.

mounted the FMIC, ran the power stearing lines. Mounted the passenger side fog light and smog motor

set it down so I could lift up the rear to do the fuel pump.

Got the old Walbro out and the new Stealth 340lph in.

I am going to finish the intercooler piping when my new 3.5" couplers get here along with the tbolts.

started it for the first time using a start up tune I got from Heartland. Running extremely rich (need to adjust FPR) but it runs and moved itself into the garage under it's own power.

here she sat Wednesday, outside for the first time and ready to go to the tuner. The Cobra is scheduled on the rollers on Sunday! I will update then.

I am having Tom from Heartland Speed Shop tune it (He previously owned C&S). I am hoping for mid 500's, but I am not too set on any number.

i make it a point to warn everybody i see with that fuel pump that they suck and aromotive will tell you to kick rocks when it fails, mine lasted less than 500 miles

I agree I have not heard good things about Aeromotive fuel pumps in general either.

Love the car man. I'd still like to have an SN95 Cobra someday. Honestly I never hear good things about Aeromotive. A local guys built 90 LX caught on fire driving down the road because of a faulty Aeromotive FPR. The car was a complete loss.

You serious? Look again. All of the blades are identical, like how they're supposed to be.

It must be the angle of the picture. They are all supposed to be cut like that and they are ALL equally cut in the same exact spot. Thanks for the support guys. I will let you know what numbers it puts down tomorrow.

Well after running into a few issues with tuning, finally got it out of the shop today. I maxed out the MAF and the intake/filter from ProCharger is heavily restricting me on power. I will be getting a ba 5000 slot MAF and Anderson power pipe then retune it. I should, and hopefully will, crack into the mid 500's after that is done.
