I always wanted to go, but none of my friends are willing to commit and while I could make the sojourn alone, its more fun with people.

if I really wanted to just drive the hell out of a car by myself I'd rather pay for an HPDE day closer to home.

We went during the 4th of July weekend the year before last and it was a wonderful weekend and a surprisingly low volume of cars

Trying to figure out dates for the TotD. July 4th-7th or the 5th-8th should make for a quiet weekend on the Dragon, but I'm open for suggestions. The weekend of August 24th is the only weekend we already have booked, which is fine because that weekend is a huge Jeep meet at the Dragon.

August/September would be much better to avoid the heat. July would be hella hot and there's a lot of RACECARS on here with the RACECAR AC delete mod.

1. There is no quiet weekend on the Tail in season. Also check the bike, Miata, Vette, and other clubs for what weeks they go. The Miata crowd is HUGE. As are days before and after Mustang week. Lots of traffic coming and going to the show hit up the Tail.

2. August is just as hot and humid as July.

Miatas will be there the weekend of August 1st. I’ve spent the weekend checking cars clubs, motorcycle clubs, and other car events to see when they had scheduled their Dragon meets.

Yeah. September/October would be best to avoid the heat. I'm also not sure who would go, but some people do a lot of vacationing during the summer months, so that might also be a reason to wait a little bit. I honestly don't care, I'm just traveling with you guys and going my own way when we get to Tennessee, I'm just offering up ideas.

July is the only month they don’t have any club drives planned, the last weekend in August is also meet free (30th-2nd) as is the last two weekends in September.
