I like Byron, but it's always so damn busy. Unless you can hot lap as soon as the track opens or right before they close, it's not worth sitting in staging lanes for 5 hours to make 3 passes IMO. It feels so poorly run.

I do like 41 but it's not as nice a facility as Byron. Hit or miss as far as how busy it is.

I've never been to 41. I love Byron, but like others have said, it is too busy. I've had times where I spent the whole day and only got about three passes. I think 41 is quite a bit further, but probably worth it if you can get in more runs.

GLD seems better paced than Byron, but I've only raced at GLD a couple of times.

GLD had 250 cars yesterday. I got there at 1:30 and left 5pm got 5 runs in. I sat waiting for about an hour for them to get this notch off the track/track cleaned up. Could've made atleast 2 more passes but I wasn't in a hurry.

3 years ago maybe

Might be worth it to try as they seem lenient too me and my friends car's. I ran the 2 previous years with no cage never they never questioned it. I put a cage in this year though it still isn't certed and still no fucks given by tech :jg:

From wikipedia: In 2014, the track opted to no longer be a member track of the National Hot Rod Association, instead, along with several other dragstrips that year, joining the International Hot Rod Association.

Wow! I think that guy was at Byron 2 weeks ago running with the CMC group. I was lined up next to him in the staging lanes and chatted a little with him. Really nice guy and was a really nice car :(

Here's the driverside that he scrapped while I was there in the spring time. He always did sweet bumper draggers.:fy:

Every time I've been to test and tune at 41 Tim did an excellent job with prep and getting everyone runs. It gets busy but most the guys are only there to make 4-5 passes and spend time between tuning. If you're just looking to race or simple tune, i don't see why you couldn't get 10+ passes easily. Track always seems to hook great. But then again me and my associates come from the street and make shit work there first. You worried about tech? Just make sure your scrap isn't leaking any fluids or about to rattle apart down the lanes. If you don't trust your car or the car at the beams next to you then don't go down the track please.

Btw, i prefer 41 because i don't have to take traffic jammed highways or tollways to get there and the scenery is nice. I'm sure i could get to Byron the same way but I've honestly never known anyone that frequented Byron like US41. Not to mention 41 also has the longest shutdown when compared to Byron and the grove.
