Oh there is ZERO argument on the looks of it, I just have tiny fat hands, so, I tend to default to a smaller knife.

It's a tank and fills the palm wonderfully. Inspires confidence with ANY task. ZT FTW.

I also found my next one. I'm starting to treat some of these like I do firearms and watches, I'm paying for craftsmanship knowing damn well I'll never use it.

Bladehq.com

And yeah, I love OTF. I would advise against dagger style otf. Found my Benchmade really hard to use practically.

Bump.

My grandma gave me an REI gift card for my birthday which started this whole journey as I've been wanting a nice knife for a while. I've narrowed it down to a couple knives, more specifically the Benchmade Nakamura 484 or Osborne 940. Not really a fan of the Griptillian.

@JackS told me about that Knife Experience place in Crystal Lake so I stopped by during lunch. I was able to finger fuck a bunch of Benchmades, specifically the Osborne and Griptillian just to see/feel it. Still didn't like it so there's that. However, I really, REALLY like the feel of the Osborne but I'm still partial to the Nakamura but this place didn't have one in stock. I'm waiting to see if they have one en route so I can make a decision if I still want to go with the Nakamura. It is shorter than the Osborne but I really like the look and cut of the Nakamura's blade. The biggest problem people have with it is the finger grooves being too small. However, the Osborne is starting to grow on me, so we'll see if I can get some hands on with the Nakamura.

Then they also had this behemoth. Tops/Buck CSAR-T. It's a stupid nice knife but it's @wombat thicccccccc. The blade is almost twice as thick as the Osborne.

In my research, the M390/S90V steel is premium stuff, so, of course in Carter fashion, I'm definitely leaning towards that.

I LOVE my 940. I think I have 10ish Benchmades and it's my favorite by a long shot. The 940-1 has been a dream knife since I first laid eyes on it but I haven't been able to pull the trigger yet.

Had this one for a while and loved it for being a cheap blade. Make sure the screws stay tight though.

Whelp, did it. The 940 started growing on me more and more but I just love the look of the blade on the Nakamura. It's a little smaller than I thought it was going to be but still somehow fits my hand better than the 940's longer (but thinner) handle. The blade is sharp as it is but if people are saying Benchmade/yourself can make it sharper... fuck.
