I recently fondled both the LCP and BG at Marengo. I have to shoot both but the LCP felt a lot better. The 42 still feels the best but the LCP and BG are much smaller. Let me know how that Ruger works out. I need an AR and back up home defense 9 compact first then I want a pocket .380.

I'm already on a spending spree for her... 2 mags, speed loader, and extended grips on the way. Just stuck with a 6rnd mag, the 7 are way over priced. Hopefully that extra round would never be needed.

No, very subtle mods. Recoil spring, talon grips, and a grip extension. Nothing else is needed. Fitting only the trigger finger and 2 on the grip originally. Now the pinky fits lol.

BTW I have a DeSantis holster for it I would be willing to sell. It's a practically new Nemesis pocket holster. Fits LCP without laser. Mine with the Crimson Trace goes in but it's not the best fit. Currently sells for $25.99 new, but backordered. I'd take $15 picked up in Aurora or Geneva

Trust me, I thought long and hard but decided to keep my eyes on the prize and buy another Ruger in a couple weeks. I think I'm going with the AR556.

Bringing this back up as I finally got out to shoot my LCP yesterday. My first impression - it shoots horribly, at least for me. Im not a huge fan of modding carry pieces, but I've some reading. I know the 13# r ecoil spring has been mentioned here, but I also found a reduced power hammer spring that will drop the pull about a pound and a half. I also found RTK makes a Sweet Pea trigger that changes the pivot point, resulting in a shorter trigger pull and shorter reset, plus it's adjustable to get rid of pre and over travel. Did some reading on forums that this is the way to go. Anybody hear anything about these or have any experience?

Ruger did a design uodate and that is one thing they addressed. You probably got a new version that's been updated for better trigger - thise have no dashes in the serial number. The older models have a dash in the serial number and the triggers are horrible, as I found out.

I shot mine yesterday as well I'm guessing it's a new version then, I was hitting pop cans at 40 feet with it pretty reliably, I was pleasantly surprised by this little gun, the one thing I noticed and it's the same with my p238 they don't like to chamber that flat nose bullets, the p238 just plain won't, the lcp once you force it to take the first round it runs fine after that, it probably doesn't help that I don't clean the gun before I shot it and it's brand new out of the box, about the trigger, the reset sucks horrible, you can't just reset it and shoot from the trigger braking point you have to take it all the way back to the start of the pull to make it reset then take up 1/3 of an inch of slop all over again, but the brake is clean and it's probably a 6-7lb trigger, it's a self defense gun and it's super small it can't be good at everything lol

I didn't expect it to shoot like a full size or anything, but even at only 15 feet I was all over the place with it, even with the laser. The trigger was so heavy and long I was consistently shooting way low. I thought it might had been me, so I grabbed my XD45 and had nice tight group as usual. Tried the LCP again, all over the place. My buddy even tried the LCP and was all over the place with it. I brought the target in to about 8 or 10 feet and it was much better, but still not as tight as it should be at that close of a distance.

From what I've read, I believe the old LCP had about a 8# pull while the newer ones are around 6.

I put some Remington Golden Sabres and Win white box through it yesterday with no problems.

I decided to go ahead and order the hammer spring and 13# recoil set. Holding off on the trigger for now, I try shooting it with the springs first and see how it works out.

I ordered them from Galloway Precision, $15 each, 6.95 for shipping. Ordered Wednesday morning, they were in my mailbox this morning. Disassembled the gun and installed them. Pretty easy, and the trigger feels better dry firing it. Can't wait to get back to the range to see how it does.
