Seekins took their time with yours for some reason. Usually they're not entirely to bad with shipping, but my guess...I'm thinking something business related. It could be that there's no longer a direct sales rep for the Midwest and we have to deal with sales just like everybody else. Not sure if they just got rid of all sales reps for dealers and all orders go through online and sales. But that's a factor in why it was slower and shipping products out. At least in my opinion.

If you want a reputable company, Aero is a good quality and decent on prices. Seekins also makes great products but they're a bit more. You want a different company, I can look into those for you as well. Just shoot me a PM and I can help you out.

You want something cheap, Anderson Manufacturing aren't bad for the price and you can usually find them on sale.

Are you looking for functionality or are you looking for something fancy? Functionality you can build off a $50 whoever lower, otherwise it's to taste. Most of the forgings come from the same few places and are just final machined by their respective companies. I'd go even farther and say some are likely done by someone else then roll marked for them.

Even the uppers are largely like that. I've had people say a billet upper is "stiffer" for instance but have as of yet to find anyone to actually quantify the accuracy. Depending on your build money and flexibility in budget, I lean more towards adding $$$ to the barrel, trigger or glass budget first.

Aero Precision actually makes the lowers for a lot of companies like Spikes. They just add Spikes logos and off they go to Spikes. I can actually spend the money and have Aero manufacture lowers with my logo if I wanted. If you go to Aero's site, you can read a bit about it on the bottom of their homepage.

Interesting. That's pretty much what I guessed. The lowers all function the same.

I guess I'm going for something a little more fancy than a plain lower, but nothing too crazy like something from F1. First and foremost, I want this build to be as reliable as possible, but I'd also like it to have some aesthetic quality.

Not too concerned with cost at this point, as long as it's fairly reasonable. I'm more concerned with building a quality firearm that's reliable.

If/when that happens put me down for one. I'll probably start considering the C&R license and SBR at some point.

Also, quantify the billet upper accuracy difference and put a video up. Inquiring minds want to know lol.

The whole forged vs billet thing is like people saying 1911 vs Glock. It's a debate that has been going on for so many years. In my opinion (which only means so much) is that there's no difference in accuracy. I actually really haven't heard anybody mention about accuracy. I have heard about the durability of billet vs forged. The saying is that billet is stronger and more durable than forged. But I'll tell you what, give me a forged or billet and they'll both stand up to each other pretty damn well. Unless you get some kind of cheap material piece or something, they're both durable products.

As for my logo....I need to get my FFL first so I can stock them. Then I'm thinking of redesigning my logo as well. As for lowers and firearms. I can still sell. Just not directly. People buy lowers from me no problem and I put the order in. It just gets sent to a FFL of the buyers choice. They let me know whom they want the product shipped to and I get the necessary information and forward it to my reps at whatever manufacturer I'm ordering from. They ship out the product to said FFL. In the meantime after the customer places the order with me, they talk to said FFL and fill out the 4473. That goes through the process of the background check and waiting time and when the product finally arrives, said customer goes and picks it up and leaves.

Anyone do anything special before taking a new AR build out for the first time? Should I run it wet or just do whatever you would normally do after cleaning?

Asking for a friend.

I spray my BCG with oil, just drench it. Then fire and clean completely afterwards. As long as you keep it clean and oiled, you are good to go.

The muzzle break I'm using does great at keeping recoil and muzzle rise in check but does nothing for sound and flash by a long shot.
