what's better than than getting a new gun (ak47) this week? Getting two new guns of course.

Smith and Wesson M&P9L Performance Center, Ported, with an Eotech MRDS mounted. i will either buy an Apex trigger, or just steal the one out of my other M&P. I need to remove the rear site though, because it prevents me from powering on/off the optic without using some king of tool stuck through the rear site.

I also need to figure out how to properly sight it in, if i align the three post, i can't see the dot, i have to raise the muzzle to be able to see the red dot. obviously this is my first pistol with a red dot, so experienced RMR users, please chime in, *cough* @Eagle *cough*

I'm thinking I might want a different optic, one not so tall, like the RMR or vortex that way i can co witness with it. i have a pretty good muscle memory and draw, and since i won't be installing an optic on my ccw, i really don't want to change it so im thinking i need something that i can co witness with. Unless i use the gun for competitions only that don't require a draw, i guess i could get used to the dot being high...i dont know, maybe im overthinking it. haha

Doesn't the S&W Performance Center stuff already have decent triggers in them?

Cowitnessing an optic with sights on a pistol is critical for anything that you MUST hit your target on... IE: CCW pieces. I won't RMR a carry piece because I don't want some lawyer thinking I was just looking for an excuse to go all John Wick on some poor fool that twitched the wrong way if God forbid I ever need to defend myself.

ANYWAY.... why not black? I've never used EOTECH period - due to their fiasco with the popular AR sight drifting.

trijicon all day every day here, including the cowitness night sights.

Batteries will run dead on you in the MOST INOPPORTUNE times. So having sights to look at in the same place as the red dot goes a long way towards preventing target acquisition issues in that event.

i won't be carrying it, so im trying to determine if i need to co witness it, or just ditch the sights. it's strictly going to be a target/comp gun, so if the optic does fail, the worse that happens is i lose the round. i have seen plenty of vids and pics where people ditch the sights completely on the pistols that are set up with a red dot, im just worried if i go doing that, it's going to affect my muscle memory and my smoothness of acquiring a sight picture on my normal pistol without a red dot.

it's fde because that's what i scored the deal on, id much prefer a black one.

Haven't been in this thread for a few months. Just got caught up. If any of you 5.7 guys aren't aware, Elite Ammunition in Harvey has a few different options for ammo, as well as some good accessories for PS90 and I think FiveSeven as well.

Was going to a couple months ago get the Franklin I believe. But they didn't have it. I was looking at ft Knox safes before just didn't want to spend the $. This is like 2x the price but it's top notch for sure.

Ended up getting enough to cover the safe from my grandpa when he passed.

Woke up and there was frost on my windshiled, that means it's time to start giving a shit about guns again. Always been a winter hobby, end up just shooting what I have and not really caring to purchase/mod in the summer months. Had a few on my wish list, but can't narrow it down so I decided instead of buying another gun that will just sit in the safe I should actually do something with my AR, ya know, in case Hillary.

Rifle is a S&W M&P Sport II

-15" BCM KMR Free-Float Handguard
-Hogue Pistol-grip and stock (black)
-Magpul flip up front sight (already have a rear)
-Some sort of light, probably streamlight
-Red Dot sight that I can co-witness with the flip ups.

I'm going to order the grip/stock and handguard right now that I have @Chester Copperpot's blessing on what to get. Front sight is easy, light will be easy enough but my biggest unknown thus far is the optic. I'm OK with spending $400-$600 on something quality, maybe @1MEANGT, @Eagle or Carter can chime in on that as well. Going to be a sub-75yd rifle.

I was looking at the MRO, thinking that's the direction I'm going to take.

I still want that ACOG with the ACSS reticle but I feel like I need an expensive ass gun just to mount that to

Dumb question and I see many schools of thought on this but how much ammo do you guys try to stock up on? Seeing how prices and availability can get all over the place do you guys try to stock up on ammo And why?

When it dips into "good price" territory, buy as much as you can.

Why? because why not?
