Need to do a pan drop soon on a 96 4L60 but i am not sure what kind of tranny fluid to go with.

Should i get Dexron III or IV? Synthetic or Blend? Mobil or Valvoline?

I was reading the article attached but no solid option to go with.

Play it safe with Dex III or go with synthetic Blend (I have my eye on Valvoline Dex VI)?

Is it the factory converter? When I put an aftermarket converter in my car they manufacturer specifically said not to use synthetic fluid.

Edit: This was the 4L60 in my T/A.

i would go with dex III, with a friction modifier (like lubeguard or similar).
stick with the factory stuff.

Do not put any additives or anything in your trans. Buy Dexron III and nothing else no synthethic b/s or crap just regular ole plane Dex III.

Well I'm by no means an expert haha, but I run regular dex III in the tranny. How I look at it is, if it's good enough for gm to run in the C5 ZO6s (not sure about the latest ones), it's good enough for my babies.
