LSx GTO owners beware *FIRE*

Sorry if this is a repost. Just found out yesterday, just trying to spread the word, that two LSx GTOs have burned down due to driver side engine cover rubbing through a fuel hose near the back.

The rub on the fuel hose is at or near the yellow decal that is wrapped around the hose. Its easier to see with engine cover removed. I will try to link in the thread later today.

Yes, this is fairly common knowledge. I believe there is a TSB for it.

yup. mine started to rub thru my hose. i took it off, smoothed out the edge that makes contact w/ the hose, and got another piece of hose i wrapped on that part just to be safe

My LS1 GTO never had an issue. i was one of the lucky few i guess.

Yupo three of took our covers off and all three were rubbing.

This has been a long known issue, I had the new hose fitted back within a few months after getting the car because even at that point it was rubbing and leaving a small cut.

Called my buddy with his 04....I guess his was starting to rub.

If I remember right I think the 04's were the only years the goat had this issue.

05/06 they had moved the fuel lines...and did a few upgrades to the rest of the car.

I dont run the covers wont fit with the supercharger..... well it can if u modify it according to mag but why bother lol
