Here's a link that gives you a glimpse of the heads on an LS block. MMR has been using GM motors for quite a long time. High horsepower is what they do.
Durability is even more critical if you are 50miles out to sea.
Check out the vid also, the 1650 on the side of the prototype is for HP.

HAHAHAHAHA
the heads/cam carriers are extremely similar to the 3.4L TDC (5 cam) GM v6 lol

the early ones look to be chain driven but the other pics show a belt drive off the 5th cam....

the intake design and cathedral type ports are very similar, and not hampered by the inline valve arrangement of the lsx.

very similar I get but your not taking 496 heads and bolting them on a 6.0, that was my point, these are not bolt on's for a small block lsx motor because the merc QC4v is a big block same style as the 496 but with a bunch of awesome added

never mind i see that they started to adapt the 4v design to the small block, I thought they were trying to say the 1100, 1350, and 1650 were small blocks there not they are big ass mother fuckers

Chevrolet Big-Block engine 8100- Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

the bbc is still made for off highway and stationary engines...up to 540ci, CNG, multifuel etc.

i have at least a couple pics of the 8.3 and 8.8 variants

id bet the belt system is the small block LSx setup while the bbc system is chain
