Wow. Amazing fabrication work from this build. Looks like all of it is garage built, too. I spent a half hour reading this thread and he's documenting the build very thoroughly.

Yea the 2.8 tp 3.9 V6 is basically the same block through all the years. Just seems like a crappy motor to put with that bad ass chassis like Jesus said

3.9L had excellent flowing heads. Perfect for Boost. Excellent torque at idle and the power band was very flat to red line. Basically you were never in the wrong gear when I owned my 06' G6 GTP.

Still, it was only 240hp, GM cammed it a little soft in my opinion, they should have ran that thing to 7k vs the 6050 or whatever barely 6000rpm redline it was.

Maybe using a V6 will allow him to stay in a slower class since it looks like its going to be a track car. Otherwise I don't really see any advantage of using that over an aluminum block LS motor.

Here's his reasoning for the V6:

I wanted a powerplant that would sit low and as rearward to the center of the car as possible. The v6 that i'm using accomplishes this feat quite well.

The engine sits further back and lower than a LS would. That was the only real decision maker. In fact, Its so close to the center of the car that its technically a mid-ship.
