👋 INTRO Best place to work on car near chicago

Hey Im new to the area and I have a CRX... insert Ricer comments below. Im living in Hyde Park and am parking on the street but still want to have a place where I could go to work on my car. Does anyone know of any DIY type garages or anything like that in the area.

Chicagoland DIY Automotive does look pretty good. I could see it getting pricey in a long job though but I might have to give them a try, Thanks!

Depending on the job you might find a member who'd wrench with you. I've loaned my garage out before.

The Chicago Park district runs an auto shop at West Lawn Park:

I've never been there, so I don't know how it works, but it sounds like it would fit your needs.

Not too many people who don't enjoy beer. I'm sure some of that could persuade someone to let you use their garage for the day. People in the car community are pretty helpful, reach out to some people in your area
