Not sure if they still have it, but I used to love the beef stew from Pop N Fresh Pies.
I would drive out of my way to get some!!!
They had great bread that came with it

We had Portillos last night and tonight.

You guys might think, big deal.

For someone living in Florida with only a couple of Portillos in the entire State, it is a big deal. Amy stopped at Portillos in Tampa on her way home from seeing our girls.

It's like a glorious meal from home.

Beef sandwiches with peppers and mozzarella. Dipped in the Portillos juices. I made some homemade onion rings, too. Probably 1,500 calories per serving. LOL

Still have some left for tonight.

I make good fries but I used to get the onion rings when I had Portillos so I made those instead.

Onion ring batter tip: Whip the egg white until you get peaks and then fold it gently into the batter as the last step. The introduction of more air gives you a light and crispy batter.

Anything special for the recipe? I assume stew meat and golden potatoes? What about the sauce.

Ah, the flour thickens it and the wine/worcestershire give it flavor.
