Default Slow cooker Mississippi Roast

My first time trying this, pretty sure I saw it on here in another thread

What you need
3lb chuck roast I got a 3.5 pounder
A pack of au jus
A pack of ranch dressing
Half a stick of butter
pepperoncini Peppers
1/4 cup water

Dump your seasoning packs on the roast, cut your butter up into a few chunks and space it out, dump your 1/4 cup water on the roast and cover it in peppers, throw it on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours

I do this but with just the chuck, pepperchinis, and some onion and garlic. Its already a fatty ass meat, the butter seems redundant.

Leave now. Your disrespect for buttery goodness is unwelcome here.

lol it's meat and goodness in a crock pot, it's gonna be good. im just saying that with the potatoes and carrots in there as well. it's more of a pot roast at that point than anything.

I would say there are different variations on a roast. Some use just meat and spices, some use veggies and some even use fruit. Like raisins in sauerbraten.

I also throw small potato in most of my crock pot "roasts". Because I am basically trying to make a complete meal in the crock pot. lol Many times, depending on the spices and flavors I want, I will put veggies in there too. Sometimes less preparation wins out over flavor profiles and even technique. haha
