If they put some more of that red sauce in.. left out the rice and made it spicier would be heaven..

Taco Bell is testing new versions of the Double Decker Taco that they've taken to calling "2wister" Tacos.

There's a Cheesy + Crunchy version and a Spicy + Cool version. Like the original, each includes a flour tortilla folded over a crunchy taco shell with various ingredients serving as a glue to hold the two together.

The Cheesy + Crunchy 2wister Taco is held together by a combination of nacho cheese and 3-cheese blend. Inside is a filling of seasoned beef, crispy tortilla strips, shredded lettuce, and shredded cheese.

The Spicy + Cool 2wister come glued together by melted cheese and what appears to be habanero sauce (most likely the same sauce as in the Dare Devil Loaded Grillers). The filling includes seasoned beef, sour cream, shredded lettuce, and shredded cheese.

They've been spotted in the Dayton, OH area at $1.29 a pop.

If the 2wister Tacos sound familiar, they were spotted in test earlier this year as "Collider Tacos." It looks like they like the new name as they've filed to register it as a trademark.

Taco Bell is trying a $1 value menu for breakfast that includes a couple of new items including a new Oat & Blueberry variant on their Cinnabon Delights.

They're calling it the "$1 Morning Value Menu."

The new Oat & Blueberry Delights feature donut holes with oats and blueberries mixed in, covered in icing.

Other new items include the Mini Skillet Bowl, which looks to be a mixture of eggs, crispy potatoes, cheese, and pico de gallo, and the Sausage Flatbread Quesadilla (a slightly different, cheesier take on the since-discontinued Sausage Flatbread Melt).

Other items include things currently on the menu for a buck, such as Grilled Breakfast Burritos (with either bacon, sausage, or Fiesta Potatoes), Breakfast Soft Tacos (an ungrilled version of their current breakfast tacos), Cinnabon Delights (order of two), and Hash Browns.

Mirroring the current all-day $1 Cravings menu, everything on the value breakfast menu test is $1.

The test was spotted out in Fresno, CA.

Well this is damn near interesting.

Taco Bell Now Has A 'Crispy Chicken' Taco Shell, LOOK AT THIS THING

One of our Foodbeast readers sent over a pretty awesome photo of a Taco Bell taco made with a crispy chicken shell. A few quick calls and we were able to confirm that this taco is the real deal.

They're calling it the Naked Crispy Chicken Taco. It features a breaded white-meat chicken shell that's filled with lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese and an avocado ranch sauce.

So far the only known location to carry them is in Lost Hills, CA. The taco is available individually for $2.49:

Those cinnabon Delights are like crack. I can't go there without getting a 4 piece now.

Taco Bell in Wicker Park unveils alcohol menu, opening date - Chicago Tribune

Quote:
Get your appetite for Mountain Dew and tequila ready: The new Taco Bell in Wicker Park — the first in the country to serve alcohol — will open Sept. 22.

The menu features three 16-ounce frozen drinks that look straight out of the Kwik-E-Mart; spike your cherry-red Cantina Punch, electric-yellow Cantina Margarita or Ninja-Turtle-green Mountain Dew Baja Blast with your choice of Captain Morgan rum ($6.19), Ketel One vodka ($6.69) or Don Julio tequila ($7.19).

You'll also find Steelhead wine ($4) in individual-size twist-off bottles, and two taps pouring Dos Equis ($4) and Fat Tire ($4.50).

Toast to the fact you're drinking in a Taco Bell over a new menu of what the brand is calling Shareables — essentially, appetizer baskets. Choose from regular or chili-cheese nachos, quesadilla triangles, mini taquitos (called "rolled tacos") and, surprisingly, chicken tenders, which are actually the best of the bunch.

The new T-Bell also comes with exposed brick, an open kitchen and a fancy new name: Taco Bell Cantina.

But give up your dreams of a drink after closing time at your local bar. Taco Bell Cantina will serve wine, beer and liquor until only 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and midnight Friday and Saturday. 1439 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Spicy Lava sauce is back at Taco Bell, but only for a limited-time.

The spicy sauce, which used to be featured in the chain's since-discontinued Volcano menu, is being featured in the new Volcano Quesarito, which was also the platform the chain went with when it offered a limited-time version of Sriracha sauce.

The new, limited-time Volcano Quesarito consists of a filling of seasoned beef, premium Latin rice, Lava sauce, and reduced-fat sour cream wrapped up in a grilled, 3-cheese quesadilla.

The suggested price tag for the Volcano Quesarito starts at $2.49 for the beef version, $2.99 for the shredded chicken version, and $3.29 for the steak version (may vary). It basically costs the same as the chain's regular Quesarito. The new menu item is also available in the Volcano Quesarito Box, which includes a Volcano Quesarito, a Nacho Cheese DLT (Doritos Locos Taco), a Crunchy Taco, and a medium fountain drink for $5.99.

If you're unfamiliar with Taco Bell's Lava sauce, it's described by the chain as a "unique spicy sauce that is full of cheese flavor and heat from red jalapeno peppers."

I reached out to Taco Bell regarding an end date for the sauce but was told they don't have one to share yet, so it's "get it while you can" at this point.

Those Dare Devil Loaded Grillers are what I had been eating lately. I hate that they have these delicious items for a limited time only. Damn you Taco Bell!

Since I couldn't get a chicken club chulupa anymore in Rockford I stopped going to taco bell. It was life changing not being able to have one multiple times a week like before. It was like quitting a drug addiction. so horrible lol. So I went today for the first time in a long time. Got this quesarito box meal they offered. Not impressed. very disappointing. I also had a loaded griller and that wasn't bad at all.

had 2 steak volcano quesaritos today. oh man. just about as good as the sriracha quesaritos they had all too briefly. i even busted into my stash of diablo sauce that ive been hording. The new cherry starburst freeze isnt half bad either. doesnt have quite the same kick that the strawberry one does, which is a good thing. That strawberry one is good, but its like drinking liquid diabetes.

I've only had their breakfast once, but it was on point. I'm not a huge fast food breakfast person, but if I were a regular McD's guy in the A.M...I'd be moving to TB. The biscuit taco and AM Crunchwrap were stellar

In addition to a regular and Chili Cheese Fritos Taco, Taco Bell is now also looking to see how customers will like a Flamin' Hot Fritos Taco.

The test item looks to feature a taco shell with the same taste and texture as a Fritos corn chip, sprinkled or embedded with Frito-Lay's Flamin' Hot seasoning. The filling is the same seasoned beef, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and shredded cheese as the chain's Taco Supreme.

The Flamin' Hot Fritos Taco was spotted in Lawrence, KS by a commenter on the Beefy Crunch Movement Facebook page (who also included a couple photos of the taco).

If it makes the national menu, the Fritos Taco would mark Taco Bell's second Frito-Lay-branded taco shell. The first was the Doritos Locos Taco shell, which has already spawned several flavor variants including Nacho Cheese, Cool Ranch, and Fiery. Looking at the Fritos range, other flavors they could possibly try include Bar-B-Q and Honey BBQ (there aren't all that many Fritos flavors).
