Nah. Mushrooms are awesome. Hated them as a kid. Love them now. I added a Sam's Club brown gravy rather than spend the time making one from scratch that would have been similarly good.

I should have taken a pic of the toothpicked meat roll. It was raining and I rushed inside and then hurried to get foil on the rolls. My mom and wife wanted to eat. LOL!

I really like how on those Weber grills you can simply rotate the grill rack 180 degrees to move the food off of the fire rather than handling each piece individually. Works fairly well for switching back and forth between direct and indirect heat.

I used to say the same about Weber.
I have probably bought every brand but a Weber prior to my Weber.
After having my Weber for 3 years, I will never buy anything else.
Well worth the coin if it's in your budget.

You got 5 years from the Kenmore which is good for a bargain grill. Using those numbers, you buy three for the next fifteen years. That matches the Weber price.

The win for the Weber comes in with it lasting at least 15 years. You can replace any parts that wear out with other, good parts and a lot cheaper than a new grill. Weber materials are much better than other Chinese junk. The big advantage is temp. control and a much more controlled cooking environment which means a lot more successes.

Same price overall and you get a better grill for the entire 15 years.

There are reasons anyone who uses a Weber promotes it shamelessly.

If buying a gas grill who cares cause replacement Weber parts aren't that inexpensive and by the time something rots out the rest of the grill is shabby. Take care and cover it and anything will last longer. I'd buy a cheapo if you're replacing every 5 years.

Charcoal is another story. A Weber will last. And they're inexpensive. If you got $ an egg style is better yet.

Heat retention for grilling isn't that critical. Think about how long you cook stuff on it, 30 minutes?
Smoking is where heat retention helps with fuel consumption and chasing temps. But who smokes using a gas grill anyhow

Wood packets help. Not as good as a real smoker but a lot easier to cook.

Latest K&J purchase. An entire rib eye. 12.80 Lbs. I butchered it into 13 rib eye steaks. On sale for $63.00.

I also picked up a brisket, boneless chicken thighs, some flank steak and other assorted cuts. Plus, I grabbed some Bone Sucking Sauce for the chicken.

Late to the party, but Weber or KYS. My current Weber gas grill is about 8-9 years old. Finally need to replace the top rack. I leave this sob uncovered on my deck year round cause I'm constantly grilling.

My smoker is a Weber Smoky Mountain and the thing is awesome. So easy to get the temp dialed in and it will hold that temp for minimum 6 hours.

Total Weber fanboi here, I'd never consider anything else.

K&J Farmer's Market in Arcadia, FL. They cut out the middlemen and buy directly from local farmers/ranchers. Good meat for amazing prices.

It's about a 25 min. ride each way for me so I stock up and throw the meat in my stand alone freezer.

I grilled 6 of the ribeyes for a GTG tonight. Also made some fish for Amy. It was good. Not any better than the strip steak which is always $4.99 so I may get that in the future.

I also baked some chocolate chip cookies which Amy served right out of the oven with ice cream. Didn't have any of that but I know the cookies are good. They disappeared fast so I think my guests liked them.
