So buy that and:

Some DDR3 (or ddr2 if you want to be ghetto)
a decent PSU
An HDD or two
A DVD drive

and you have a 6 core PC for pretty cheap

Also, you probably are going to want to get a video card. A XFX HD5770 is a great choice.

It would be fairly easy to get this price down. There are cheaper parts that could easily knock down the price $150~. Not to mention, if you have any existing parts you could use (ie DVD drive, HDD, Ram, etc). There are motherboards which can also use DDR2 which is pretty much common in every computer nowadays. If a six core CPU is a little overkill, you can get an AMD quad for $100 less, or switch over to Intel and get a Quad for around $180.
