1984 Cal 24 Sailboat

I'm going to buy this for $500, throw the mast in the lake and just motor it around. a mooring can at Monroe is about $1300 per season

Formula thunderbird interceptor 235
nothing too special about this other than it runs, I like how it looks, and it's cheap AF

28' Carver Mariner
this thing has been for sale the last two years now. finally at a decent price. pretty loaded too. likes this, a lot.

25' Cruisers Cuddy Cabin 454 engine
never knew cruisers made a boat like this. performance-esque. big block power and under $5k for a nice looking boat

Catalina 27 sailboat

I like this a lot....and it's a sailboat. Really thinking of doing an epic river cruise vacation all the way down to the gulf and something like this would be perfect. Inboard diesel that sips fuel, shallow draft. I'd probably want to spend less money though.

Do the loop in small legs at a time. Travel for a week every year, dry dock the boat where you finish. come back the next year and do more of it.

is 4 feet that shallow of a draft though?

on a sailboat, that's nothing. from all my reading, under 6' and you're safe for the whole loop. but, the shallower the better. all the channels aren't well maintained and you may run aground in some places

Our old 24' S2 had a weighted shoal keel, 2' draft. That would be ideal for a trip like that. Or a boat with a dagger board you could pull up when not using.

I don't know man, I have no idea what that would cost to repair and I have never done it myself. I think I remember that you have, but yeah supporting the mast would make me nervous. Plus that is kinda small for a 24' being a pocket racer, probably not the most spacious inside for a trip like you want. Cruisers like mine and others will have more head room and more living space, etc.

1980 Catalina 27'

this isn't bad either. How common are sailboats 25-30' on trailers?

Thats a fucking steal and would make a great live aboard. Ill split it with you and the expenses to keep it moored on the big pond.

Not very common, many with 5-6 draft and tall cabins like this would be sketchy to get under some bridges too.
