Im trying to figure out why my Marauder/Whipple/Crusher idles so damn high.
I found a vacuum leak at the # 4 cylinder and got that fixed. I even put the mating compound on all surfaces to make sure everything was sealing properly. Got the car running again and same thing. Idles at 1200-1300 in park and 1000 in gear. Its commanding 800rpm in park.
So now I have to look at the IAC. I know if I pinch the line feeding the IAC (remote setup with the Crusher) the idle dies down and the car will die.
The idle will go unaffected if I disconnect the electrical connection.
The question is:
Is the valve in the IAC supposed to be fully seated when 'off' or removed from the car. As it sits, there is a gap between the valve and the seat.
Thanks for the help in advance.
