Anyone ever blow a qa1 up?

I have qa1's up front on my cobra and i popped the hood today to find the pass side had popped the fitting off the top and my underhood is covered in liquid. Anybody ever had this happen?

I have had them leak a couple times, but nothing like this.

it sounds to me as if the are too long and possibly bottoming out

Yes it just happened to me about a month ago, but the previous owner installed them for a 2 inch drop, my car has the normal stance. Mine popped off the purporting valve and the sleeve separated from the strut when the car was in the air. I installed the correct ones now so I hope they last longer then 3k miles.
