I know people have fixed this, but I'm starting to think Ford designed it with a little play for a reason.

The other day, I bumped a concrete stop in a parking lot. If the bumper didn't have any play in it, it wouldn't have moved out of the way and I'd be picking up the pieces.

I have the fender well setup and I have to remove the damn bumper everytime to recharge the air filter. There isnt too much holding it on there are the 4 plastic screws that screw into a pos plastic anchor. And then you have one screw on each side of the fender that screws in. The headlights have to come off (just 2 metal inserts that have to come out). Make sure the corner of the bumper is latched behind the metal clips on the end

You don't have to take the whole bumper off to change an air filter just because it's in the fender.

just go to autozone and get the same stlye screw with the plastic expander(anchor) ...but ...get a size slightly larger than stock and see if they fit nice and tight.if not just drill out the hole a tiny bit larger to fit the new fasteners :D

they sell those fasteners in packs of 6-or 8 ithink and they are like 5 bucks:biggthump

or just nut and bolt it

I saw a mustang the other day with hood pins on the fenders where the bumper cover has the two studs on the side. Looks easier than dzus tabs, or other common-sense fasteners.

I have to take my front cover off to change oil as my filter is mounted on the bumper reinforcement

Since I punted the deer, the mounting points at the top are blown apart so the only thing holding it on is the studs on the side.

Its floppy, yes, but when its mounted correctly, it doesn't rub on anything, and rubbing is what makes squeaking noises...
