Tubular K-memeber and headers install

Allright folks, with the blower swap done and being a success, I feel feisty enough to take on this job in my garage, we'll see how this one goes!

I found somebody that'll borrow me their engine hoist so we should be rocking and rolling soon.

Im gonna start today by taking the brakes, spindles, springs and A-arms off.

there is 1 bolt on the steering shaft. then you just slide the shaft towards the firewall

Yes 13mm if my memory serves me correctly. And the torque is 20NM. Ill let you translate that into ftlbs LOL.

Better yet, weigh the tubular and stock K members at home before you go so we have an accurate reference point to see if the scale there is accurate.:biggthump

from what i've heard.....



the stock one is right around 100lbs

aftermarket ones around around 40lbs

Ill weigh them both, Ive heard that with A-arms and coilovers you end up taking off about 70lbs.

I think I got 60 pounds when I weighed all my stuff. The A/C Compressor was the additional couple pounds.

I did some more work today, A-arms are off, Rack and pinion unhooked, front bumper off, Tomorrow Im taking the Old K-member out and installing headers:dancenana:
