gauges?? Mechanical or electric?

I was looking at boost, oil preasure, water temp. and fuel preasure gauges and I noticed the electrical ones are far more expensive, are the mechanical ones OK or is electric the way to go?

Electrical gauges are a lot easier to install. But mechanical ones are fine. Well all except the fuel pressure gauge. If you mount it in the car you need a isolator (PITA) or run the electric one.

Yes you can. But you can not moniter fuel pressure from inside the car when on a pass, dyno, etc..

where is a good place to hook these up to?

fuel preasure to the regulator?
water temp. to the coolant temp. sensor?
oil preasure to a fitting somewhere that can read it?
Boost I know I can T to the boost referance line.

Along the same lines as the fuel pressure gauge, I had a buddy whos oil pressure line came loose from the gauge and squirted oil into the passenger area. Stuff like that makes me a big fan of electrical. No other real advantages though, the mechanical ones wors well.

i dont know if your car has a fitting by the stock oil pressure sensor. my car had one so i took out the plug and put it there

i dont know where you would run your fuel pressure gauge on your new fuel system

h2o temp you could get a fitting and put it in the upper coolant crossover plug

only mechanical guage i would run is boost for obvious reasons... electrical for everything else
