Allright folks, Im getting ready to embark on this journey of swapping blowers, Im gonna be off for a couple of weeks so Ill have plenty of time to chase parts and do some research.

I will up date the thread with pics. to show my progress and I hope you guys can give me some tips because I know I will need them.

I think taking it off is pretty straight forward, but the devil is in the details when it comes to putting it back on the correct way so that will be my main concern.

Good luck man... it is pretty straightforward, just make sure you keep good track of everything and mark the vacuum lines, to make life easier later.

It took me about an hour and a half to do the job and it wasnt bad at all, the hardest part I think was unpluging that clip that holds the harness to the lower manifold.

I took the intercooler off the blower and I thought I was gonna get lucky and the bolts wouldnt break, I was on the second to last bolt and then (*&$$(&^%R($.... it snapped

Don't forget to put a hose clamp on that fitting underneath the lower intake.

good job.not that difficult.replace the steel gasket for the blower.stiegmeier sells it for 35 dollars and they have the bolts for the innercooler.

i think i used black rtv sealer between the intercooler and blower,and a new steel gasket between blower and lower manifold.you can also get new bolts at ace hardware.

i got the the gasket from Steve at Tousley ford i think that he only wanted like $20 for it, in my opinion i would go with the nice steel gasket, its a lot safer bet then just using rtv or anything else, plus not messy at all!

cool, Ill have to look for that steel gasket, what about the lower manifold to heads gaskets? do I need new ones??

I was also wondering about the bolts, I read that the manifold to heads are torque to yield and you need to replace them but what about the blower to lower manifold ones?

I have a box of bolts so if you need some for the I/C to the blower I will mail you them. I busted one also and got some from McMasterCar. I could not find anything at the hardware stores.

If you are doing an EGR delete and breather setup you can completely plug that fitting...

Yep, I was told that if you do breathers and only have the line go right back to the blower, it is essentialy a vacuum leak I do know that this is the way mine is and Victor's too and neither have any problems

ok so then I need to get breathers, what did you use to plug the fitting under the manifold with?

I just went to Home Depot and got a plug that fit in there, I believe it was 3/8 NPT

You don't have to do breathers, but if you do then you should plug it. I actually found that with breathers it was making under my hood really dirty, so I actually went with a catch can setup now where both valve covers go to one spot. I can take some pics if you want, or you can take a look at it next weekend.
