Should I gut it out?

I am thinking of gutting out the cobra. Down to nothing but the seats & dash. It is not my DD and it is just my fun toy. I was just wondering if weight reduction would be significant enough to be worth "ruining" the car.
I was thinking of removing the carpet, entire dash, back seats, door bolsters, etc. And, I was just curious if anyone knew how much weight would that save me.
Thanks

If you're gonna do it, do EVERYTHING. Heat, AC, Wiper motor, EVERYTHIINNGGGG. I'd never do it to a terminator, but a notchback on the other hand :D

Agree, if you are going to do it, then save weight where ever you can.

I am at 2825 lbs w/ a 1/4 tank of fuel in my SN95. The exterior and interior look stock (still has stock power seats, horn, wiper motor, original hood, k member, etc). Be creative when removing weight.

what did your car weigh stock, what did you remove if all that is left in it?

It would probably be better to restrict you to salad for a month then tear apart your car! I dunno how big you are but the weight is not worth it. Just go one size smaller on the supercharger pulley fixed!:headbang:

I wouldn't do it. Just my opinion here, but a little weight reduction is ok, but a gutted out car better be stupid fast. You'll get a lot more respect going fast with a "full weight except..." car rather than a tin can that only goes average times.
