Its the same as a stick axle except you need a case spreader and spreader plates, backlash is tighter, and there's more preload.

case spread - .030"
backlash - .008-.013 with .010 preferred
carrier preload - .014

Hammering the shims into an aluminum housing galls the housing and ruins it.

I shouldnt have to mess with the back lash if I use the current shims correct? All I am looking to do is put new clutch packs in.
