I've been living with some noise from the rear for some time and have gone through two rear wheel bearings in the last several months. People have also commented that the rear tire camber looks "off" from behind the car. Then Sunday cruising around and all of a sudden there's a thumping noise from the front.

I was gonna start tearing into it, but I thought that considering the speeds the car sees from time to time it might be smarter to have a professional look at it. Here's where my frustration comes in and why I was looking for options/suggestions.

I imagine I'm partially to blame since I'm always looking to get work done without having a ton of down time, especially since this type of work is pretty basic (i.e. not cutting edge customization). Unfortunately places like Dean's Repair, Speed Inc., Sutton, etc. usually have pretty long waiting lists lately and I don't feel like dropping my Cobra into "car jail" for a long stint.

Basically I need to determine if the solid rear in the Cobra is bent or not square, have all the components looked at and have the pinion angle set. I also need to have the front end noise looked at (wheel bearing, brakes?) and also have the rest of the front end suspension evaluated to make sure it's safe for hard launches and 130+mph jaunts at the track.

Any suggestions for a quality suspension place that I could get into pretty quickly and trust with my car?

Your probably going to have to go with one of those three places. Definitely give Hans @ Deans Performance a call and see what's up. I can't see your car being in his shop for more than 3 days for the things you listed. I dropped my car off yesterday and will be picking it up on friday, so he just might have room to squeeze you in sometime over the weekend or next week.

I know you dont want down time, call one of the above shops you trust and see if they could get you in... If you want to know if your car is safe to drive on, i think it would be better to get that diagnosis from someone you already know and trust rather than going to a new shop...

I hope this gets fixed soon Larry, Cant have ur car down when i actually come out this year!

I cant say on down time but my old shop i worked at does amazing work. They put my t56 in and rebuilt my buddy's 4.6 2v after it blew up. The guy that would most likely do the work to your car is damn good with chassis and suspension work. He used to work at Area 51 and used to build scca chassis for people, so he's got experience.

hey maybe if you're lucky enough, you can see my old boss's untitled cobra pace car. when i saw it i was in complete:eek2: over the car.

they do damn good work and they're pricing is very fair. I believe they charge $75/hr labor for stuff thats not in all data (basically any performance stuff). which is alot better than some other shops charging anywhere from $100 - 150/hr

oh and they know there way around centri blowers too ;)
