Why do Bassani exhausts have a different #

I need to know why the Bassani catback exhaust systems for the 99 Cobra and the 03 Cobra have different part #s. Can they be interchanged? If they can't, then why?

they can be interchanged. I have the 03/04 exhaust on my 99, both the x pipe and catback. Its just the tailpipe size i think.

Interesting... I think the 04 Cobra requires O2 extenders if you notice on their website, the 04 is slightly more for I think this reason.

i dont see why it would be any different, its just another way for Bassani to charge more..

I know the tips on the 03-04 bassani catback are a little bigger than the 99-01 bassani catback tips.

Just says the 4604 on the 04's which I am pretty sure are extenders, but the same part number for all the rest.

I called them before i bought the x pipe. They said they have never tried the exhausts on the different years but they are basically the same and will work just fine. Mine works fine. I really think the only difference is the tips. 99/01 tips are slash cut and open up downward. The 03/04 tips (like i have) are bigger (mine are 4") and open up outward to follow the curve of the 03/04 rear bumper. However, I have seen 03/04 tips that open downward
