What are the best tires

Hi guys,

I am new to this website but I have been a member of chicagomustangclub.com which is kind of similar. I have a 2001 Cobra and I am wondering what would be the best tire for the money on the backs. I have 17's on the front and 18's on the back. I do not take the car to the strip but I do race on the street and in the next couple of months I am going to get 4:10's put in the rear so I will need a lot of grip. I have emailed Hans but I have not received a reply yet but I hear he is a busy man which you all trust.

Switch back to 17's in the rear and get a pair of MT 275 Drag Radials. Thats the only tire I would run.

Some people whine about rotating mass. IMO 18's are just for looks. If you have a good enough drop 17's will look just as good. Plus 17" tires are cheaper.

17s in rear and 18s in front would look ridiculous.

If i were you i'd go for all 17's but that's just me. I had all 17s on mine and with a 2" drop it looked good. For reference:

Im a big Nitto fan but for what you are doing I would go with everyone elses advice and go with the MT's

That does look good with the 2" drop but I do not know if I can go lower with the Stalker kit I have coming, but maybe that is because the 18's are on the back with 17's on the front. Would the Mt's be good for a DD? When it is warm out I drive it when I am not on the motorcycle.

if your gonna be driving around a lot i'd go with a 315 NITTO. M/T's are good as fuck but wear down quick

I hooked up great on a 245 BFG G-Force sport with 400rwtq and a 4.30 gear. They ran like $150/tire

i have some nice 17's with bfg drag radials mounted to them already in the classified section...

seriously though, stick with the 17's for sure and think twice about that stalker kit

if you drive on the street with that thing more than 8k miles a year, then your better bet is something like a Bfg KDW or perhaps a nitto 555.. drag radials have a "mushy" feel to them and don't last all that long..

I have experienced better grip with BF Goodrich drag radial vs. Nitto drag radial. Per my car, the 60 ft. times have ranged between 1.50's - 1.60's with BF Goodrich DRs, bolt on suspension and approx. 300 rwhp.
