I remember Lyle had the 10000 and they looked hot !!! did you go with hi and lo beam or just the one beam kit? sorry about all the questions, just want to know what to get. post any pic's if possible.

i went with 4300K (it is what all OEM use)...it emits the most lumen out of all the bulbs (which means it lights the road the best). Also, anything over 8000K will start to strain your eyes if you drive for a while at night. When you go over 10000K, you are actually producing less light than what the OEM bulb emits. i used to have 8000K on my 04, and now have the 4300K....I am much, much happier now.

Cliff, ........ is this a simple plug-in or do you need to also change wires? What brand/kit are you using?

JymBart

Jym,

The kits vary. Some are simple plug and play, some require power/ground wiring. The kit I used also has an incandescent "brights" bulb that lets me flash to pass. Useless as brights but it does work for flash to pass. I had to wire it into the lights' power circuit so it would work with the brights controls.

Most of the kits I've seen are really easy installs but their instructions are non-existent or poor.

There is also a set out now that has a mechanical pivoting bulb that gives you true brights. Don't know how long the mechanical pivot action will last before breaking but the added brights feature would be cool. The basic kits have no brights at all.
