Hey you guys do you think $610.00 for rear gears w/ labor is to much in price. I was just thinking that, thats alot of mney for a mod that doesn't give HP. That money could go to another mod that can give me more HP. What do you peeps think.

+1, dont even bother getting gears if your gonna get 3:73's.hj16 said:Thats a waste of money. 4.10s AT LEAST, 4.30s are preferable.

DSG03COBRA said:+2 When I had my '99 Cobra I was back and forth about putting in 3.90's (?) and 4.10's. I went w/ the 4.10's and couldn't have been happier. If you're only going to go w/ 3.73's it REALLY IS a waste of money. That much of a change in ratio won't give you the "ooph" you're going to expect.
Do some research and you'll see that most people go w/ 4.10's and a good number of people go w/ 3.90's and THEN go to 4.10's. Don't blow your money w/ 3.73's... do it right the first time... :headbang:

Theoretical top speed yes...actual top speed no.cobra01nate said:doesn't that hurt the top speed higher you go with the gears
Many many many people have seen gas mileage of up to 25mpg highway with gears such as 4.10s or 4.30s.cobra01nate said:Really i was told go with 3.73 becuase i drive the car alot.
cobra01nate said:Hey i appriacate it alot but i live in Cali, so that would be alittle hard for me to find a place around you. But thats what i thought. $610 for parts and labor does sound kinda high.

Your cars top speed will increase with gears such as 4.30s because your car will be higher in the powerband where the engine is making more Horsepower, hence given you a higher top speed.
SVT SPEED 04 said:not sure if I had quoted you or another shop, but price is very fair
M-4209-G410A $215
Fluids $20
Labor $350
+tax
comes in just around $605
I agree with most here if you do a gear do 4.10-4.30 and don't look back. :biggthump
