Leaky UPR shifter

This is the second one im on. It is leaking up through the middle of the base and then down the tranny. Does anyone else have leaking problems who own UPR shifters? Im ready to return for refund and get an MGW.

did you try putting silicone sealant on the base before you put it on? even though it should have a gasket with the kit I've never had one leak after putting silicone on it.

make sure its well greased around the base of shiter lever. Where iot moves from gear to gear side to side. If it doesnt have a nice size glob it may leak like you are saying.

Its not the base that leaks. Its up from the shifter lever itself. Ill check the grease there.

Just get the MGW, thats what im going to get.

Thats the spot that needs a good size glob to keep it out. Its not alot of fluid but over time it will build up and make a mess if its not well greased.

Yeah its leaking up past the ball. If you move the shifter back and forth it actually will push some fluid up and through with the car off. So with it on and warm I assume more would come through especially on a fun run. Not that impressed with that aspect. I added some more grease and will check on it in a week. If it still leaks im going to buy an MGW.

buy it anyways I hear they are AWESOME :headbang: I have the PRO 5.0 its OK I guess but nothing compared to the MGW.

BTW...If you dont fill the void with a huge ass glob then it may still leak. Dont be afraid to put alot on all the way to the top of the lever socket, it wont hurt anything
