Best drag only tire

I'm having traction issues @ US41 with my 315/35/18 BFG DR's

I also have a pair of 17 inch cobra wheels and would like to put some drag only tires on them.


any suggestions?

To get any good short times you will need some kind of 16 inch wheel and tire combo in my opinion. But on my cousins cobra I was cutting 1.6 60fts on 17 inch ET street Radials at the track. His car is 100% stock suspension and the car made 617 whp. But to go 1.5s or better on 17s would be hard

The guy at Hoosier says the 315's will safely work on a 17x9 rim, although I'm skeptical. I think I'm gonna need to see a set mounted before considering it myself.

I have heard nothing but good about the hoosiers.

Dont worry jack just about everyone has a hard time hooking at 41!!

I got 315 on my 17x9 rim. they just bow out a little but they look hot.Will post pics soon!And that is a BFG dr! And yes they can fit um!

I have cut numerous 1.6x 60's on the 17" MT DRs, but I have quite a bit less power than you.

Diamond Racing 16x10s are pretty cheap

I was exploring this option, but I went with Bogarts instead. With the Whipple, or possibly the new 2.6 KB .......... 28" Hoosier slick is the only way to fly. Hook great for me @ 6500 RPM launches, I think you were at the track that day, they hooked well enough to destroy my 33 spline POSI :lmao:

auto setup.

From what I understand, the auto makes a big difference because it doesn't hit the tires quite as hard. That is still VERY impressive though! :biggthump
