gas milage

I reciently had an slp x-pipe (with cats) installed on my 03' cobar to go along with my slp loudmouths. I feel as if my gas milage has gone down. Am I crazy? what can i do?

Not to sound mean or anything but this is the WRONG car to be worrying about gas mileage with, LOL! If I actually get to drive my Cobra, it's not uncommon for me to fill up at least twice a week!!!!! That's expensive (and I drive EVERYWHERE when I get the chance, LOL). But as far as your problem, you'd have to start calculating you MPG's, because it might be like Carl said, you're egging the gas more just to hear the exhaust, with is also VERY common. Good luck!

Personally, I can't see how it'd get worse gas milage when you are freeing
the exhaust up (usually would be better) but not enough to really notice.

I am also with Carl on this one, as I still do the rev under the over passes etc.

I was wondering the same thing, Went to Wisconsin dells and I only got 15 miles per gal. on the E-way,

















Maybe thats cause I Averaged. 95 mph.... and raced a few different cars along the way.... :biggthump But I did not buy it for the MPG......

I just filled up today. I got a tad above 16mpg mostly city driving on a stock cobra. I dont care...its grins per gallon for me.

Stingers did that to me. I drive the car to please the exhaust sound Gods. It got worse when I did the mid-pipe.
