Finally had the chance to data log the car again (first time in about 4 months)

Just curious what everyone else datalogs.

right now I log the following:

Time (sec)
INLET AIR TEMP
DOWNSTREAM AIR TEMP
COOLANT TEMP
LONG TERM FUEL TRIM BANK 1
LONG TERM FUEL TRIM BANK_2
SHORT TERM FUEL TRIM_BANK 1
SHORT TERM FUEL TRIM BANK 2
MAF COUNTS
MAP sensor voltage
ENGINE SPEED
Air Fuel
LOAD
VEHICLE SPEED
SPARK
RETURNLESS FUEL PUMP DUTY CYCLE
PRESSURE DROP ACROSS FUEL INJECTORS
BATTERY VOLTAGE

The car is still running pig rich even after I leaned it out a little last time. Air/Fuel ranges from low 10's to low 11's.

I only did one 4th gear run last night, and it was only up to 6K rpms or 125mph, I did 2 3rd gear runs which aren't as nerve racking only going up to 105mph.

Other than the 1 to 1 gear ratio is there any reason why 4th gear pulls are prefered over 3rd gear pulls? (I know on a dyno it maters, but what about the street?)

I've attached the data log for your viewing pleasure

We always datalog the ones I highlighted in blue (although we sometimes do one or more of the others).

4th gear puts more of a load on the engine.

4th gear runs are kinda scary on a public highway. (for me anyway)

I did mine last night around 11pm on I80 and there were still a decent amount of cars on the road. I only passed one car on the 4th gear run, but only had the balls to run it up to 125mph or 6K rpm

Do you guys log with the Xcal2 or what do you use? My car is not running right and I badly need to start datalogging... I have a WBC already, which I think can be hooked up to the Xcal....

I have an LM-1 which is hooked up to my Xcal2 (I hard wired most of the connections and keep everything pluged in all the time) the LM-1 and Xcal2 fit perfectly under the passenger seat.

I just run the USB cable from the Xcal to my super tiny Sony Viao laptop (weighs 2.98lbs) and I'm all set for dataloging

There's also quite a bit of timing in that tune. I'd sneak up on a better A/F slowly. Lots of hp/tq. left in there. :headbang:

I have it at 23 degrees.. how does everything else look?

the Air fuel isn't as bad as I thought...

I just graphed it out on sheet 2 of the excel

Not bad...lots of room in the FPDC, nice cool IAT2 temps. I've attached an OLD datalog from last Summer. This is my RWTD street tune on a 16.5 psi pull. He's commanding 19 degrees max timing in this tune. Unfortunately, I have all my current Methanol datalogs on my home computer.

Although I've never run or datalogged it, he also gave me a race tune that commands 22 degrees timing and he says should only be run with 98 octane fuel.

Did you notice how much Hp/Tq. Matt picked up with his new Whipple from the leaner A/F? You should get the same benefit when you fine tune your car.

I hope the info helps.

Get a 4.10 and the 4th gear run will be 120 w/ stock tires.

Gear T56 (03 Cobra) + 4.10
1 45 mph
2 67 mph
3 93 mph
4 120 mph
5 151 mph
6 192 mph

Gear T56 (03 Cobra) + 3.55
1 52 mph
2 78 mph
3 107 mph
4 139 mph
5 174 mph
6 221 mph

Yeah but with a 4.10 gear I'd blow the tires off in every gear.

and I'd have to add another shift in the 1/4 mile

Your going over 120 in the 1/4? That is @ 6500 RPM, what is the redline on your new motor? Maybe you could wind out 4th to 6800~7000?

I sure hope so :)

I was trappping 118 with 500rwhp, and with around 600 I should be doing much better than that, probably in the 127-130 mph range

and remember that trap speed is the average mph of the last 60 feet in the 1/4, so if you're trapping 117 ish, you're doing over 120 at the end of the 1/4

redline with the new motor is at 6,600, I'm too chicken shit to go much over that... I may bump it up to 6900-7000 eventually

You have way too much power for 4.10s. Even 500 hp may be too much. I'm still debating going down to a 3.73.

Yup, my A/F was in the lower 10's with my base tune from MileHi. Used my Predator to pull 5% in the lower fuel table and 3% in the upper table. With this being the only change, and less than 10 minutes between runs, I picked up 43rwhp and 59rwtq... AND there is still room to improve seeing as how the A/F is still in the upper 10's...

Do a little tweaking and you should be REAL happy Jack!

Well I leaned out the tune a little more yesterday... also finally hooked up my FP guage and mechanical water temp guage.

wen't for a 4th gear run last night and my A/F was between 10.8-11.3 but a good 50% of the time it was right at 11.2.

I'm going try and even out some of the A/F spots, and see if I can get another 4th gear pull before today's 4:30 dyno.... oh, I also raised my rev limiter to 7K.

Hopefully I don't blow this thing up :biggthump

How'd the numbers turn out???? And 7k for the rev limiter  Can you feel it still pulling between 6500 - 7k?

The Dyno got got canceled yesterday.. they're trying to fit me in today.

I haven't had it past 6,700 yet and my shift light is at 6,500.. I figure the motor can take it, and if I'm late on a shift, I won't bounce off the limiter.
