Got the offical ford recall in the mail today...

Well i opened my mail box today and i had the offical ford safety recall in their...i was wondering if anyone else had one too?

What is the issue?

During heavy throttle application, the unique accelerator pedal on your vehicle could get caught on the edge of the carpet located behind the accelerator pedal. should this occur, your vehicle may continue to accelerate even after the driver's foot has been removed from the accelerator pedal. This condition could result in increased stopping distances, and possibly a crash.

I was unawear we had "speical" accelerator pedals???

I kind of laughed at the whole thing even tho it is very dangerous. I never had this problem before so i should be talking. but n e ways just wondering if anyone else got their "safety notice recall."

Got mine, too. I bet this is going to be one of the most skipped recalls in history. I read that the Ford mechanics have to check the throttle travel to make sure the pedal will still reach full throttle after the shield is in place. I wonder how many Ford mechanics will do this by flooring the car?

In my case, I will cut the carpet if the pedal sticks again.

yea i keep the recall in my glove compartment in case i get pulled over...im just gonna jump outta the car and start messing with the pedal and be like hey their's a recall here...no need for a ticket :headbang:
