Dohc on a GT block

just a thought i had

buying a 2001mustang gt in a few
days

is it possible to swap in the dohc heads from a cobra onto the gt's block or are they different blocks
i know the 99/01 cobra have aluminum blocks and the gt's have an iron block but are the heads interchangeable?
i probably wudn't even do it but im just wondering.

You will have to change the intake manifolds for sure. The 2001 GT has the PI heads and they are pretty good.

I think you have to change out timing chain covers and stuff like that as well. I have read that it was not worth it with all the other stuff you have to swap out.

so its basically not just a bolt on and go kind of thing?

is there any possibility i cud find a wrecked cobra or something and swap some parts off the top end to make the dohc i want the power and i want 6800 rpms bad 5800 really just isnt enough
i definitely dont have the equipment to pull a motor out and swap or rebuild but if i cud just swap heads and intake that wud be plenty simple i think
