Build date question.

I am considering an 03 coupe with a build date of 4/08/03. #6492 of #8394. Is this considered a late build in the sense that the tick, vibe, pull, tink, pop, etc... were known and resolved? Most importantly I'm concerned with the tick. Would this build date still have the head with the cooling issue? Thanks everybody. I hope to join the Cobra ranks.

Try running an Oasis report on the VIN of the car to see if it has had any problems in the past. You can also find out if the warranty has been voided or anythinf like that also.

IMO....Look at the body panels, the rockers, floor pan, etc for signs of collision work. All the mechanical components can be fixed anyway. Tell the salesman you hear a tick and see if you can get a better deal..............Lyle

That number was scheduled to have the tick and pull but not the vibe, tink, or pop. :joke:

Don't worry about all that crap. It's way blown out of proportion. These are fun/fast cars with no more or less issues than anything else in this price range. :burnout:

also note its not the actual build date, its the projected build date. its actually the invoice date of when the car's paperwork was processed and the MSO (manufacturers statement of origin) turned into a VIN (vehicle identification number so it could be titled)


they honestly made very little running changes during the production runs (and for that matter, between the production runs).


doenst matter what batch it came from. if it has any of the usual problems, they are all fixable.
