Anyone convert to HID's?

I posted on SVT forums and a few guys had changed over to HID, but none of them had used the projector lenses, they just upgraded with the bulb and the ballast.
So basically the HID headlamp was not focused like a low/high beam, it just shot out all over.
I was wondering if anyone had cut out their headlamps internal housing and actually fitted a Hella or Bosch projector?
I am interested to see if this will work/fit.
