Were you using Mobil 1 Syn. or a regular oil? Who makes the oil you are using?

i use mobil 1 and i went an honest 5000 miles between oil changes. in those 5000 miles i ran 3 road course events without changing the oil, and ended up with engine temps well in the 250f range repeatedly. i'm going to try 6000 miles between oil changes this time around.

the increased aluminum in the sample has me slightly concerned. the only place in the engine i know of where steel rides directly on aluminum is the cylinder heads.

Were you using Mobil 1 Syn. or a regular oil? Who makes the oil you are using?
