This upcoming Sunday May 1st is our second NLOC ILLNESS Lightning club race of the 2005 season at Byron Dragway. The first event drew over 30 trucks with 29 of them running the event. It was a good time.
See:Byron Dragway for track info.
We run a bracket race with our own class and staging lanes, with trophies going to the winner and runnerup (just for fun and bragging rights).
Attendance at our events is usually good (15-25+ L's), and everyone with an L or HD truck is welcome. Track opens at 9:00, T&T starts at 10:00, and eliminations usually start at 11:30-12:00. Track closes at 6:00
so you will get plenty of runs in. Cost to race is only $25, specators are $10. Trophies are provided by the track.
If you live in the area and have never been to Byron, you should really make an effort to do so this Sunday. Some of the quickest Lightnings in Illinois will be there. New owners should come out and view/investigate planned mods before investing, and race spectators are always welcome too. We should have a pretty good turn out if weather goes as currently predicted as everyone is chomping at the bit to get their first race in. A grill will be available again at this event (thanks, Larry) if you want to bring your own hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. Beer/alcohol is also OK to bring in and consume as long as you are not racing or are done racing
Hope to meet some more new faces out there this time.
