Should K+N FIPK plastic nubs be sanded off?

My K+N FIPK arrived FedEx today. When I opened the package and fondled the parts, I noticed that the plastic adapter doughnut has 4 small nubs left on the inside of the ring from the moulding process. It would be easy to sand them down so the ring is smooth. Anyone know if this is worth it or if the airflow will be unaffected by the nubs and I am being too picky?

Nahhh, scr*w it. I even have a bracket, a screw, and some washers left over. I just took the car for a ride with my kids. General concensus is quite a bit more blower noise and slight SOTP power increase. I'll see what it feels like tomorrow morning when I take it to work in the cooler weather.

An actual serious mod! Aren't you guys proud of me? :D

It has been long enough Cliff, and yes, I think I speak for everyone when I say we are proud of you.

I just hope you understand you have opened Pandora's Box.

And on the Seventh Day God created Cobra, and He saw that it was good.

And Adam didn't come back w/the car until Monday morning an hour before he had to be at work, smelling like cheap french perfume and potato Vodka.

But I doooonnnn't liiiiike the nubs... Hee hee!

I did disconnect the battery. I had to reset my clock afterwards. The car feels quicker today. Could be cooler weather or computer adjusting or a combo of both. It did backfire on the way home and scared the crap out of me. I was thinking was that a backfire or did something hit the car or did I break a halfshaft or what? I was just cruising at a steady speed so I figured I probably didn't break anything. I guess the backfire could mean the computer is still adjusting.

I had just finished racing a Z28 that I've come up against before on Harlem. His plate says 1EVIL something or other. Nice guy. He says he ran 12.2s at the track recently and he wasn't pulling away from me through 1st and 2nd. Too much traffic ahead to go through 3rd. I'm definitely noticing a power increase now with the FIPK. The blower sound is also Oh so sweeet! The guy with the Z28 remarked on how good my blower sounds. I told him to wait until the next time I run into him when hopefully I have the Bassani catback. :biggthump
