Gauge Choice?

I have a dual gauge A pillar on the way and I already have a Lunar boost/vac gauge for one slot.

I was debating on what to put in the other:

1) Fuel Pressure
2) Pyrometer (Exhaust Gas Temp)

Any opinions on which would be the most useful?

If you want to get a gauge that'll do you good, get the fuel pressure gauge. If you're looking to get the exhaust pyrometer to check for detonation, invest your money into a wideband a/f ratio meter instead and prevent it altogether. If it's just for looks, get the cheapest lunar gauge they sell.

Fuel pressure... with that pulley you need to make sure the pumps don't take a crap on you...

I've been guage shopping, too (Autometer of course). Is the right fuel pressure guage the $180 electric unit? Seems pricey.

AND, didn't somebody have a full length pillar cover with 2 pods that was the color of our interior? Can't find anything like it!

Unless you want to mount a mechanical fuel gauge on the hood of your car, pay for the electric one. Running an impulse line from your fuel rail to the inside of your car is NOT a good idea and I think it's illegal.

As for the A-pillar pod, I'm pretty sure they all come in black, mine did. I had to order a can of matching spray paint from a ford dealer (Part# M4JZ-19M547-1074H Midnight Black). It's expensive for a can of spray paint ($12 I think) but it will save you the headache of trying to find a match somewhere else.

Some big shot at Lotek just bought a Lightning and joined the boards. Everyone told him what a PITA it was to paint the pods, and now they make color-matched pods for the Lightnings. Check out their website and maybe they're offering the paint on other pods too.
