90K is ALOT of miles for an S2K honestly. I'd be looking for ones with under 75K, and at least 04, or newer.

I see 'AP1's' with big miles sell for 10-13, but no "AP2's" they are called (Bigger motor, slight visual cues)

I test drove an S2K before I bought my Mustang and it was very tight inside. I am 6'2" and I felt like I was inside a clown car. It was a fun car to drive though.

My friends 06 mustang gt, 5 speed with taking his axle back off, control arms, some M/T's and a short throw ran 13.2-13.3 every time at the track. When he got a intake, and a SCT tuner he was gracing 12.7/12.8 almost every time pretty good for very little mods i'd say!

Pretty good for the mods, if you have someone who can drive the car. Most people cant drive worth a damn

Now things are so different Thats like your average Evo/STi owner I see at the track they bog the launch like a mother, or miss a gear every once in a while it happens to every one!

I like the 05 and newer bodies of the mustangs, The mod motors are great for turbo's. Thats my Two cents.

I'm 6'2" also, and it was 'snug' for sure, but I in no way felt 'cramped'.

everything was exactly where it should be and comfortably within reach. Wouldn't bother me

True enough...in the small amount of experience I have the wrx needs to have the clutch slipped really bad to get a good launch. If you try and launch normal, the car boggs no matter what and below 3krpm there is no turbo spool and the lag just screws it all up. You can smell the clutch really bad, but get a nasty 60' launch that way. IMO I would rather replace clutches than blow up the trans launching at 5k+.

FWIW I still say newer gen stang

I say new V6 Mustang honestly. You get more warranty, potential if you decide to upgrade, a nice interior, and good fuel mileage.

Having a 2v engine I can honestly say they are the least expensive to upgrade

I cant believe Im saying this but the new V6 isnt such a bad idea. 300hp with good mpg....I think thats a great idea. But if you have to have a V8 I say go with the new 05+ body style. 3V engines are nice and its simply newer.

Has anyone mentioned anything about the possibility of insurance being cheaper on the 99-04? I don't know if they are but it is something to think about.

My $0.02- I like the 99-04 body more then the 05-10. But 2011 is by the far the nicest IMO. Either way you can't go wrong in a mod motor.... Damn things sound good and I don't think any GM fan boy will argue that.

This thread brought me Lolz

I would go 05-08 honestly. Never been a fan of the previous bodystyle or interior.

I suspect by the time I'm in the market, Angus's car will be gone honestly. That and after looking around, I don't feel the price is worth it for getting a 'special edition' essentially over a regular GT Vert.

I'm aware of the differences. It was two slightly unrelated questions.

I also love you mark

So you're going to wait till fall to actually purchase correct? Maybe S2K's will be more readily available too

The 4X4 ranger will have a 'healthy' trade-in value in fall if I don't sell it privately prior.

I'll have to go test drive one again... I really do like those cars as well.

Yeah, what about my car? lol You pull and install engines like nothin. Pull mine out, some forged internals, turn up the boost, and bam, you have a 600+hp mustang that can't beat God's chariots, the new Camaro and GTO.......

Oh, and DD-able b/c it's turbo. Drives like a GT till you get on the skinny pedal.

but if you're set on an '05-'09, that's understandable too.

Angus has a great idea!

Turbo'd 2V > N/A 3V

If you're up to a motor swap of course.
